Google Search Trends 2022

Recent Google Search pattern data for 2022 reveals that people in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa are experiencing heightened emotions as we face an uncertain future.

On the one hand, the war in Ukraine, personal economics, and health care have all caused widespread anxiety and upheaval. Searches for phrases like "help Ukraine" increased in the UAE (UAE). At the same time, after two years of lockdowns and limitations, many people are eager to socialize and make up for lost time.

To further comprehend this dichotomy of feelings, Google evaluated thousands of high-growth queries from the beginning of the year. The research sheds insight on how collective optimism and trepidation are influencing modern consumers' ever-evolving wants and requirements.

There will be two dominant emotions in 2022: hope and doubt.

I'm in the Mood to Mingle

After being stuck indoors for two years due to the global epidemic, we are finally ready to get out. We are starting over, relearning skills and habits, and readapting to the kinds of activities we once took for granted before the pandemic. The popularity of the term "beauty lounge" in online searches in Saudi Arabia has increased by more than 130 percent.

A healthy Equilibrium

As a result of the pandemic, we have had to reevaluate our objectives and make health & wellbeing our top concerns. Reducing the weight we all put on during the lockdowns is essential to regaining a state of mental and physical equilibrium. Anxiety, meditation, and stress alleviation are being searched for on Goole across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. T he "seasonal depression" in Saudi Arabia has increased by 165%.

Regarding monetary issues Great economic difficulties, such as soaring inflation, which leads to growing bills and financial concerns, persist around the world. The cost of "energy" has increased by as much as 265% in some nations. The number of Google searches for "energy bills" has increased by 500% in the United Kingdom. Interest in phrases like "social security payment" has increased by 130% in Saudi Arabia.

Planning A Trip

Google search patterns reflect people's eagerness to resume their love affair with the open road, rail, sea, sky, and slopes as limitations are gradually eased. As early as now, we're already thinking about our trip and looking at several options. In fact, 10% of people have already booked a vacation, and 26% are browsing or investigating travel options for 2022, across all nations surveyed. While everyone has different vacation goals, it turns out we all have a favorite day of the week to start making plans. On Saturdays, people in the United Arab Emirates are more likely to conduct a web search containing around the word "flying," whereas people in Saudi Arabia are more likely to do so on Mondays, with a 10% increase in interest over the rest of the week.

The year 2022 will be a year of moods and mood swings. While the pandemic has not disappeared, its more horrific consequences can no longer be seen. We are concerned about our ability to pay the bills while also making travel plans. We would like to improve our health as a whole, but worries about inflation and an uncertain war keep us rooted in the unpleasant here and now. In all candor, I can only wonder: At what point will people cease using one another as experimental subjects?
